For a wound that will not heal, making yet another trip to the clinic is never fun. Sunwave dispatches licensed, seasoned medical providers to your home, delivering comfortable treatment in familiar surroundings.
Note: We are not an acute wound center. If you have just cut yourself, call 911 or go to the hospital. We specialize in treating longstanding, slow-to-heal wounds.
A wound that refuses to heal is hard enough without the added stress of making a trip to a wound care center (or the emergency room). That is why Sunwave Mobile Wound Care has set out to provide specialized treatment to eligible patients right here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
We take a patient-centered approach, one that marries clinical expertise and the latest in wound care technology with the kind of compassion needed to see a healing process through. Whether at home, or in a nursing home, or assisted living community, we are there for our patients.
There is real value in having a qualified provider come to you to evaluate and treat a wound. For those with limited mobility, transportation issues, or chronic wounds in need of regular professional eyes, mobile care is an obvious advantage.
Left to their own devices, chronic wounds can compromise surrounding tissue.
This can lead to the wounds getting larger or even becoming infected.
Our comprehensive services cover everything from evaluation, measurement and documentation to medically necessary debridement. Debridement jumpstarts the healing process, and bandage application protects the wound.
Where clinically sound, we offer advanced biologic treatments to speed healing.
We put together a tailored care plan for each individual that takes into account the wound itself, prior treatments or other current health challenges. Certain patients responded better to certain treatments, depending on their health history. We match each patient to the best treatment for them.
Residents in these facilities often have to contend with diabetes, circulation issues, pressure or a loss of sensation. Our team coordinates with families and staff to ensure continuity of care, sparing the patient the hassle of being transported to a hospital or to a conventional wound care center.
Sunwave was started by local surgeon Dr. Brian Goldman. He saw first-hand how tough it could be for someone with a chronic wound to get the specialized attention they need at home. His background in surgery gives him a thorough understanding of anatomy and wound healing, but he is just as focused on clear communication and a treatment plan suited to the person. When he is not in practice, you might find him walking the Pondhawk trail in Boca Raton or strolling along the beach.
