Mobile Wound Care in Port St. Lucie FL

We Come to You! No Referral Necessary

When a wound is not healing, getting to a clinic can be daunting. Patients have been known to delay care, simply because getting out of the house to spend the day sitting in a wound clinic is too much of a burden.

Sunwave Wound Care  is changing that. Our mobile wound care brings patient-centered care directly to your private home, assisted living facilities, or skilled nursing facility. We serve Port St. Lucie and nearby Fort Pierce.

Our mobile wound care service focuses on chronic wounds. Often this includes pressure wounds, and diabetic ulcers. However, any slow-healing wound is a candidate for our care.

Our in-home treatment provides medically fragile or mobility-limited patients a new way to receive care.

Note: We do not treat acute wounds. If your wound is less than 24 hours old, seek immediate help at a local emergency room or urgent care.

What Happens During a Mobile Wound Visit?

Every patient and every wound is different. We begin by reviewing the wound’s history, previous treatments, underlying medical conditions, and factors that may interfere with normal wound healing.

During the in-home assessment, we evaluate:

  • Wound size, depth, drainage, and surrounding tissue
  • Pressure, mobility, and positioning concerns
  • Signs of infection or inadequate circulation
  • Diabetes and other conditions that can delay healing
  • Current dressings and treatment results
  • Smoking or other lifestyle habits that can slow healing

Often, wound care includes debridement to jumpstart the healing process. From there, measurement of the wound establishes a baseline of care.

From there we can discuss other treatment options including coordination with other clinicians, and advanced biologic treatments.

We are commonly called in by the patient’s skilled nursing facility, family or home health aide. We are always excited to help a family provide a better quality of life for their loved one.

When Is At-Home Care Available?

Mobile wound care is appropriate when a pressure wound, diabetic ulcer, or other full-thickness wound has persisted despite consistent treatment.

We work with most insurances including Medicare and self-pay patients. We do not currently work with Medicaid.

Meet the founder

Dr. Brian Goldman

Dr. Brian Goldman is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who grew frustrated with the current options for wound care.  He founded Sunwave Wound Care to provide accessible treatment to the community.

His surgical background sets Sunwave as the leader in local wound care, allowing us to offer some of the latest treatments on the market in wound healing. When he’s not working, Dr Goldman can occaisionally be found picking up a Pickleball game at the Whispering Pines .
