We Come to You! No Referral Necessary

When a wound will not heal, making repeated trips for care is and added drag. You are already in discomfort, the added trip and time in the hot Florida sun to seek care is just a further drag.

This is especially true for our older patients. Often seasonal residents, and patients recovering at home after a procedure find our in-home care just the thing they need to lift their spirits and speed healing.

Sunwave Wound Care brings specialized wound-care visits to the patient’s home in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. We also make visits to assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities. (On occiasion we've been called to visit AirBnB's to treat vacationers with a slow-healing wound).

Dr. Brian Goldman understands that wound care is not always convenient. He regularly drives across South Florida to meet patients where they are. His goal is simple: provide thoughtful care that moves patients toward healing. No waiting rooms. No drive time. No fighting Miami-Dade traffic.

Note: We are not an acute wound center. If you have just cut yourself, call 911 or go to the hospital. We specialize in treating longstanding, slow-to-heal wounds.

Wounds We Treat at Home

Mobile wound care is intended for wounds that need ongoing treatment. When a wound has stalled, re-opened, worsened, or failed to respond to routine care, a mobile wound-care visit may be appropriate.

Our team can evaluate and treat many types of difficult wounds, including:

  • Pressure injuries and bedsores.
  • Diabetic foot ulcers
  • Venous Ulcers
  • Arterial leg ulcers.
  • Surgical wounds that are slow to close
  • Chronic wounds related to reduced mobility
  • Wounds that may require debridement
  • Wound-related inflammation, drainage, or odor

Treatment depends on the wound’s depth, location, blood supply, drainage, infection risk, and the patient’s overall health. At Sunwave, we pride our selves in bringing the latest in biologics and grafts to speed healing.

Care Designed Around the Patient

A wound-care appointment begins with an assessment. Our staff examines the wound, the patient’s medical history, current medications, mobility, nutrition, and the care already tried. They measure and document the wound, examine the surrounding tissue, and identify factors that could be slowing recovery.

The treatment plan may include wound cleansing, dressing selection, debridement (when clinically appropriate)and pressure relief. From there the provider discusses our more advanced options such as biologics and skin-like grafts that can cover the found and speed healing.

Each visit should answer practical questions: Is the wound improving? What needs to change? What should the caregiver watch for before the next visit?

Consistent documentation, and clear communication make it easier for the family to track outcomes.

Wound Care for Sunny Isles Beach Residents

We serve all of the surrounding community, including:

We travel widley, so we can also visit those fringe areas like Aventura, North Miami Beach or Hallandale Beach.

Why Choose a Mobile Wound-Care Visit?

Travel can be hard on someone with a painful wound. A home visit brings the evaluation to the patient.

Home visits also allow the provider to see the patient’s living environment, This may reveal practical issues such as pressure from a bed or chair. In one case, we helped a client find a new routine where the patient could be moved outside each day for 30 minutes, helping provide variety, movement and healing to their day.

We accept many insurances including Aetna and United health. Medicare is also accepted. Just call to discuss your plans, get an idea of coverage over the phone, and setup your in-home appointment.
